Slovak helicopters deploy to Cyprus once again. HELI COMPANY launches its 2026 mission

Today marks the beginning of another chapter in our long-term operations in Cyprus. Four HELI COMPANY helicopters are deploying to the island, where they will remain on standby throughout the entire 2026 fire season, ready to respond to wildfires and protect what matters most – lives, property, and natural heritage.

We return to Cyprus as an established and trusted partner, backed by operational experience gained over multiple seasons. Our long-term presence in this environment has enabled us to develop an in-depth understanding of local conditions, terrain, and fireground coordination procedures, directly enhancing our response time and operational effectiveness.

We enter the new season better prepared than ever – with intensive training, refined procedures, and upgraded capabilities reflecting our accumulated operational experience. Each season represents a further step forward in our readiness, precision, and ability to respond to the complex demands of aerial firefighting operations.

Cyprus remains one of the regions with a high risk of wildfires, particularly during the hot and dry summer months. Operations in such an environment are among the most demanding—combining high temperatures, strong winds, complex terrain, and rapidly spreading fires, all of which place significant demands on aircrews, equipment, and overall mission coordination. In these conditions, aerial firefighting plays a critical role—where response time, drop accuracy, and the ability to effectively support ground crews are decisive factors.

Our pilots, engineers, and support personnel are fully prepared to operate in a demanding and rapidly evolving operational environment. The combination of experience from previous seasons, structured training, and reliable equipment enables us to respond with flexibility, precision, and efficiency—exactly where it matters most.

Today’s deployment is not merely the relocation of aircraft and personnel. It represents the continuation of a long-standing commitment—to deliver even greater effectiveness, with an elevated level of readiness, in some of the most demanding operational conditions in Europe, where time, safety, and the protection of communities and landscapes are at stake.
