HELI COMPANY actively participated in the “Hephaestus 2026” exercise in Cyprus, which focused on a coordinated response to large-scale wildfires across the country. The objective of the exercise was to assess the preparedness of all rescue and aviation units to manage emergency situations during the upcoming wildfire season.
For the exercise, HELI COMPANY deployed two UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters equipped with the Helitak aerial firefighting system. The aircraft carried out aerial firefighting missions and provided support to ground units. The deployment of both the aircraft and flight crews was completed successfully.
The exercise provided a valuable opportunity to enhance cooperation in an international environment, exchange operational experience, and verify coordination between the individual components of the integrated rescue system and aviation operators.
The successful completion of all assigned tasks once again confirmed the high level of preparedness of HELI COMPANY crews and the reliability of the deployed equipment during aerial firefighting operations.
